Real Software's cross-platform development tool, Real Studio is available in four editions: Real Studio Personal Edition, for hobbyists and students, Real Studio Professional Edition, for part time developers, Real Studio Web Edition, for web development and Real Studio Enterprise Edition, for full time developers.

Real Studio is a software development environment. It compiles to machine code, uses native interface controls and has a language (Realbasic) that has object-oriented features such as inheritance, polymorphism, and interfaces.

Real Studio is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

History

Real Software was founded in 1996 by Geoff Perlman[2]. They currently serve more than 150,000 users in over 130 countries[3]. Real Software supports Java, C++ and Visual Basic.

When Real Studio was first released in 1998 (as Realbasic), it was only available for the Mac. In 1999, Real Software added cross-platform compilation, allowing users to create applications for both Mac and Windows. The option to compile for Linux[4] was added in 2005. Real Studio Enterprise Edition was added in 2009. In 2010 Real Software announced Real Studio Web Edition, allowing developers to compile web applications without the knowledge of multiple web technologies[5].
